The Asinerie du Baudet du Poitou, an “Échappées Nature” site, is a protected 55 ha natural area, in which the Department of Charente-Maritime works alongside the Marais Poitevin Regional Natural Park to conserve the mule-breeding Poitou breeds: the Poitou donkey, the Poitou draft horse and the Poitou Mule.
